Shania Twain reflects on ex-husband's scandalous affair | Wonderwall.com

Shania Twain promised to love her husband forever and for always, but he didn't hold up his end of the deal.

Back in 2008, the country superstar discovered that her husband of 14 years, producer Robert "Mutt" Lange, was having an affair with her then-personal assistant and close friend, Marie-Anne Thiébaud.

Shania quickly filed for divorce, which was finalized in 2010.

In an upcoming Netflix documentary, Shania spoke of how her divorce affected her.

"It was similarly intense to losing my parents," she said in a trailer for the "Not Just a Girl" documentary. "I thought I had lost my voice forever. I thought that was it."

While down from her failed marriage, Shania leaned on Marie-Anne's scorned husband, Frédéric Thiébaud, and the two bonded over their intertwined experience. (Frédéric was the person who told Shania about her their spouse's affair.) Soon, they fell in love and married in 2011.

Speaking of how her divorce and subsequent marriage to Frédéric played out, she told AARP, "It's twisted. But so beautifully twisted."

While her story has a happy ending, it wasn't easy for Shania to accept her divorce.

"There were days I didn't really care if tomorrow came," she told AARP. The hitmaker then added, "Survival is everything. I was in quicksand. I panicked, like everybody does, but I didn't surrender. I found a way out."

The "Star Wars" actress stunned (and grossed out) some of her fans this week after sharing a video of her eating ants. Yes, ants.

In an Instagram video, the actress showed off a snack.

"It's ants," she said, showing the camera ants atop a piece of fruit. After taking a bite of the critter-infested sweet treat, she exclaimed, "It's really good. It's not even crunchy or anything."

It's believed that Lupita had bug bite at Noma in Los Angeles.

"You can call me Ant-Woman!! #Marvel #Ants #Foodie," she captioned her social media video.

After posting the video, many of Lupita's fans praised her for being adventurous.

"Nooooooo. I feel itchy now," one follower said. Another said, "Are you sure ants didn't get on the food while left unattended." A third commenter said the snack looked "like it dropped under the fridge."

One Instagram user asked what Paul Rudd thought of her dining choice, as he plays "Ant-Man" in the Marvel movies.

Lupita is just ant-agonizing her followers at this point.

The truth shall set you free!

Selena Gomez was not only dating someone recently, but she also broke up with the mystery suitor, it was accidentally exposed as she filmed a makeup tutorial for TikTok.

During a July 21 video, the "Only Murders In The Building" star was applying lip liner when her Nana asked off camera, "So, how did you end it with that guy?"

Selena froze for a moment and winced.  "Uh … I'll tell you in a second," she said, clearly aware that the public was unaware she'd been dating anyone.

"I have no words," Gomez wrote over the video. She added, "i mean…."

Amid the accidental relationship reveal, fans were desperate for more information, nearly all of them wondering who the mystery man was. As expected, the singer, who turn 30 on Friday, didn't divulge more details.

Over the years, Selena's love life has been well documented, although she rarely speaks about it publicly. The "Lose You To Love Me" singer dated Justin Bieber throughout much of the 2010s. She then dated The Weeknd for 10 months, and she's been linked to nearly every single leading man in entertainment.

Selena joked about her relationship status while hosting "SNL" earlier this year.

"One reason I'm really excited to host 'SNL' is because I'm single — and I've heard 'SNL' is a great place to find romance," she joked during her opening monologue. "Since I don't really want to try the dating apps, I just want to put it in the universe that I'm manifesting love. But at this point, I would take anyone."

In the wake of multiple mass shootings across the country, Pat Benatar is keeping her most popular song in her holster.

The singer is refusing to perform her 1980 song "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" to protest gun violence.

"We're not doing 'Hit Me With Your Best Shot' and fans are having a heart attack," Pat told USA Today. "And I'm like, I'm sorry, in deference to the victims of the families of these mass shootings, I'm not singing it."

Although the song doesn't encourage gunplay, the 69-year-old said, "You have to draw the line."

An unapologetic Pat said fans can "go home and listen to [the song]" if they really want to hear it.

"I can't say those words out loud with a smile on my face, I just can't. I'm not going to go on stage and soapbox — I go to my legislators," she said. "That's my small contribution to protesting. I'm not going to sing it. Tough."

Pat will continue to perform other hit songs, including "Love Is A Battlefield" and "We Belong."

The refusal to perform the song follows horrific mass shooting incidents in Buffalo, New York, Uvalde, Texas and Highland Park, Illinois, among others.

According to Gun Violence Archive, there have already been 357 mass shootings in the United States in 2022.

Lisa Kudrow's son, Julian Murray Stern, was just a tot when "Friends" ended, so he never got to experience the sitcom when it ruled the airwaves. However, he recently watched the show and came away with an interesting conclusion.

"He was five when we were finished [filming]… but he did start watching when his friends at school started watching," she said on "Late Night With Seth Meyers." "He watched it and he was impressed. He said, 'It's actually really funny, I mean, the guys are so funny.'"

Lisa was almost offended that Julian, now 24, didn't seem as impressed with her Phoebe Buffay character.

"He's like, 'No, I mean you're funny too,'" Lisa recalled. "Never in my life have I wanted to tell my own kid, like, 'F*** you!' I mean, I thought it, I didn't say it."

Lisa played the quirky Phoebe from 1994 to 2004.

"It's not required that you're a fan. You don't have to like what I do. But don't be so demeaning," Lisa demanded.

Julian, it seems, was more enthralled with Lisa's work on "The Comeback," which surprised his famous mom.

"He called me up and said, 'So I just watched the first two episodes. It's really good, Mom,'" she told Meyers. 'I said, 'Thanks.' He said, 'Can I ask you some questions about that?' I'm like, 'Yes!' I almost started crying. I didn't think that anyone in my family liked that show."

Nikki Bella's 2018 split from longtime beau John Cena was very amicable… and that's the problem.

The "Total Bellas" alum told Entertainment Tonight that the split was "hard" because there was still love between them when their high-profile relationship ended.

"You almost wish it was bad, because it's so much easier to walk away," she said. "I think a lot of women get into this situation when it's like, 'I love this person, but I don't know if it's right for my life.' Sometimes we meet amazing people, but we're just meant to live a different life."

Nikki and John began dating in 2012 and got engaged at Wrestlemania in 2017. A year later, the duo split, briefly reconciled, and then broke up for good.

As much as the former WWE superstar wanted things to work out, her gut told her that John wasn't the one for her.

"No one thought I would, but it was hitting me so hard," she said of their breakup. "Even though it's painful and even traumatizing, I just knew it was right."

Since going their separate ways, John and Nikki have found love elsewhere. The "Peacemaker" actor married Shay Shariatzadeh in October 2020. They had a more formal ceremony last week in Canada. Nikki, meanwhile, got engaged to her "Dancing With the Stars" partner Artem Chigvintsev in November 2019. They share a 1-year-old son, Matteo.

Although Nikki and Artem have yet to the tie the knot, they still plan to make things official.

"We are just trying to figure out this whole family thing with Artem," she said of her soon-to-be Russian in-laws. "[We're] praying that we can get Artem's family, hopefully, to America soon. That is our goal."

The incest case against Ricky Martin has been dropped after his accuser — the singer's nephew — withdrew his claim.

Earlier this month, Ricky's 21-year-old nephew obtained a restraining order against the "Livin' La Vida Loca" singer. The nephew claimed he and Ricky had a seven-month sexual affair and argued that the crooner stalked and harassed him after it ended.

Ricky and his team strongly denied all the allegations, insisting the two never had a sexual relationship. In addition, Ricky's team said the family member suffered from mental issues.

On Thursday, July 21, a judge dismissed the temporary restraining order after the nephew dropped his claim just minutes into the hearing, TMZ reported.

"Just as we had anticipated, the temporary protection order was not extended by the court. The accuser confirmed to the court that his decision to dismiss the matter was his alone, without any outside influence or pressure," Ricky's team told TMZ. "And the accuser confirmed he was satisfied with his legal representation in the matter."

"The request came from the accuser asking to dismiss the case," the statement continued. "This was never anything more than a troubled individual making false allegations with absolutely nothing to substantiate them. We are glad that our client saw justice done and can now move forward with his life and his career."

Ricky reportedly attended the hearing via Zoom, but never addressed the court.

Kris Jenner wants Kylie Jenner to curb her spending.

Sources tell Page Six that the family matriarch —and Kylie's manager — is concerned about her youngest daughter's lavish lifestyle, which includes ownership of a private jet, multiple homes and a depleting bank account.

"Kylie has been spending so much that, after she bought the jet, her mom had to step in and tell her to slow down," said one insider. "Kris is urging her to be more responsible with her money, make wise investments. But Kylie is 24, she has her own brand, and she does what she wants."

The makeup maven has recently found herself on hot water after reportedly opting to fly 26 miles in her private jet instead of just driving. She was dubbed a "climate criminal" for the 12-minute flight. Seemingly trying to appear more relatable amid the backlash, Kylie posted a video while shopping at Target with her daughter, Stormi, and and nieces Chicago and True. Fans weren't buying it.

In addition to her jet, it's believed that she owns $80 million in real estate. Further, it's suspected that Kylie spends about $300,000 a month on clothes for her and her children.

"Kylie has actually always been very good [with her money] — young but adult at heart," a second source told Page Six.

After she bought the jet, "Kris Jenner felt she had to step in to tell Kylie to slow down. She is worried her youngest is spending too much money, too fast. But Kylie is her own woman and does what she wants," the first source said.

Linda Evangelista has settled a $50 million lawsuit with a company that she claims botched a liposuction-type of procure and left her "deformed."

The former supermodel, 57, announced the news on Instagram.

"I'm pleased to have settled the CoolSculpting case," she wrote in a statement. "I look forward to the next chapter of my life with friends and family, and am happy to put this matter behind me. I am truly grateful for the support I have received from those who have reached out."

Linda made headlines last year after claiming she underwent CoolSculpting, a "fat-freezing" procedure that acts as a liposuction alternative, in a dermatologist's office in 2015 and 2016. The procedure was botched, she alleged, leaving her "permanently deformed" and "brutally disfigured." Because of her physical looks, she lived in seclusion for almost five years.

In a cover story with People magazine in February, Linda said she was diagnosed with paradoxical adipose hyperplasia after the surgery (PAH, which causes affected fatty tissue to thicken and expand, is a rare side effect that affects less than 1% of CoolSculpting patients.) Her doctor told her "no amount of dieting and no amount of exercise was ever going to fix it," she said.

Terms of the new settlement are not known.

With the lessons learned, Linda now preaches body acceptance.

"Why do we feel the need to do these things [to our bodies]? I always knew I would age. And I know that there are things a body goes through. But I just didn't think I would look like this," she says of her body protrusions, which developed after the procedures. "I don't recognize myself physically, but I don't recognize me as a person any longer either."

The image people have of Linda the supermodel is "gone," she said, adding, "I hope I can shed myself of some of the shame and help other people who are in the same situation as me. That's my goal."
